The Final Time Is the Ultimate

Dr. Beth Brady • January 1, 2022

I have lost weight at least a dozen times – Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Medifast, Ideal Protein, liquid diet, Atkins, South Beach, keto – you name it, I have done it. All of these diets shared one thing in common – as soon as I stopped the program, the weight I had lost came right back, and then some.

After 50 years, it’s surprising that I was still willing to try something new to lose the weight! After losing 65 pounds in 6 months, and keeping it off for over a year, lots of people have asked me what I did. Initially, I would mention decreasing flour and sugar. Then I came to the realization that this last – and final – time was not about what I ate or didn’t eat.

The magic recipe is: “I finally got my head on straight.”

I could lose 20 or 25 pounds in 10-12 weeks. It required focus, white-knuckling, and will power. All of that took an amount of energy that was finite. When I couldn’t do it anymore, I stopped whatever program and ate the weight right back on. Vicious cycle. Over and over again. The very definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. This last time was very different.

All eating plans for weight loss require changes. I am too old to feel deprived, and my new plan allowed me to make exceptions for my sweet tooth and for special occasions. I also learned a lot about myself. For someone as successful as I am professionally, I unroofed a lot of feelings of self loathing and inadequacy.

With the help of a certified Life Coach, I did a complete 180. I came to know that I am amazing, accomplished, worthy and have so much to offer myself and others. And I am not special – everyone is worthy and incredible.

As a Certified Life Coach, I help individual clients realize that worth, and use that new awareness to attain literally anything they desire. I have the most amazing life – and so can you. If you want to live an incredible life – I can help you do that.
